Guinea Star Sory Kaba Joins Danish Side Midtjylland

Guinean international Sory Kaba has left Djion for FC Midtjylland for an undisclosed fee, the Danish club announced on Saturday.

Guinean international Sory Kaba has left Djion for FC Midtjylland for an undisclosed fee, the Danish club announced on Saturday.

The 24-year-old forward, who had also attracted the interest of Torino and former club Elche, signed a five-year deal to become the third African star in Kenneth Andersen’s team after Nigeria duo Onyeka Frank and Paul Onuachu.

Kaba was Djion’s record signing when he joined them for about €4m from Spanish side Elche in January.

But after just one goal in 12 games in all competitions, he was deemed surplus to requirements and Djion found him a new home at a lower fee as a form of keeping the west African off their hands.

Kaba is currently participating in AFCON and was named as a nominee for Ligue 1 Flop of the Season during the Get French Football News 2019 Awards.

He is expected to lead Guinea in the hunt of goals against Algeria in Round of 16 matches on Sunday at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.

So far Kaba has scored two goals in eight appearances for Syli Nationale having received his first international call-up for Guinea national team on 25th September 2017.
