Malawian Football: Be Forward Wanderers Sets the Pace in Super League

Gaffer Yassin Osman’s Be Forward Wanderers has made the number one spot on the table log theirs following a thorough 5-1 mauling of Moyale Barracks.

The jaw-dropping display and the club’s best in the season so far was followed up with a decent win over hosts Mzuni at the Mzuzu Stadium.

Sunday’s win may temporarily ease off the pressure on the Kamuzu Stadium outfit but the side must ward off an advancing second-placed Silver Strikers who earlier walked over EPAC United with a 2-1 win to cut the gap between them to just two points.

Also referred to as Mighty Wanderers or The Nomads, Be Forward finished the previous campaign in a disappointing sixth position, however, with a renewed vigor, the club is looking to put up a surprise this season and is already treading that path after reclaiming the TNM-Super League summit.

It’s eleven years since the side won the league title. The championship is currently on a brief pause owing to the upcoming Muslim feast with its resumption to feature a top-of-the-table clash between Wanderers and Silver Striker scheduled for September 3rd.
