Luís Miquissone Scores A Brace To Open His Al Ahly Account

Mozambique international Luís Miquissone was on target as Al Ahly beat Misr Lel-Makkasa 4-0 in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.

Miquissone, who joined Al Ahly from Tanzania Mainland Premier League side Simba Sports Club, scored the opener on the 13th minute before smashing home the second goal two minutes later.

He had a few golden opportunities to make it a hat-trick, but it was Hussein El-Shahat who found the back of the net two minutes before half-time.

Second-half substitute Zeyad Tarek extended the team’s lead on the 87th minute as Al Ahly remain on top of the league table with 22 points, two ahead of second-placed Pyramids FC.

Miquissone had not scored for Al Ahly since joining the team in October last year but finally he delivered after criticisms from fans.

The 27-year-old joined the Cairo giants at the beginning of August 2021 but has been unable to play because transfer widow was not officially open.

He had previously worked under with Ahly’s coach Pitso Mosimane at Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018, but he wasn’t given a chance, leaving the Tshwane giants without making an official appearance.

Al Ahly will now shift their focus on the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League as they host South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns  in their second Group A match next Saturday.
