Former English Premier League outfit, Hull City will arrive into the country on Friday ahead of their friendly match against Gor Mahia set to be played on Sunday 13 May at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.
The English side’s advanced party led by club legend Dean Windass has already arrived in the country ahead of the monumental fixture.
Windass, well known for his stunning volley in the 2008 Playoff final against Bristol City, confirmed the development.
[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“It’s good to be here in Kenya and I’m really looking forward to the game on Sunday. Though some of the players might be tired from the season, I have no doubt that they will put on a good show and we’re in for a great game of football,” [/perfectpullquote]
Windass underlined.
This is the team’s maiden tour of Kenya and the match has built an insurmountable amount of excitement and anticipation from the local football fans.
Previously the championship side played SportPesa All-Star team in a friendly back in February last year at the KCOM Stadium. Hull won 2-1 courtesy of Eliot Holmes’ header and an own goal from Gor’s Harun Shakava.
Gor Mahia were granted this once in a lifetime opportunity to play a match against an English side after they emerged victorious over rivals AFC Leopards in a penalty shootout at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Labour Day.
