Highlands Park Prepared To Let Midfielder Leave

South African Premier Soccer League side Highlands Park are reportedly ready to let Reneilwe Letsholonyane leave the club in upcoming transfer window.

South African Premier Soccer League side Highlands Park are reportedly ready to let Reneilwe Letsholonyane leave the club in upcoming transfer window.

The 37-year-old hasn’t had too many chances to impress in the Lions of the North shirt, making only 14 appearances in all competitions since joining the side at the beginning of the season.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Bafana international move to look for more first-team football in the summer, and a section of South African media believe that Park would be willing to grant that wish.

Reports say Park coach Owen Da Gama is not much interested with the midfielder services and would be looking for any interested party as they look to streamline their squad.

Letsholonyane was regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the country when he arrived at the club but a couple of niggling injuries pushed him down the pecking order.

He has battled to get back to fitness but if the PSL season does not complete before his contract expires there will even be more complications.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United player joined Park on a one-year-deal at the beginning of the season, ending his three-month absence from top-flight league.

He had been released by Matsatsantsa at the end of last season, but maintained he was not ready to retire from professional football despite the age.

Letsholonyane is under contact with Park until June but their coach is keen to let him go if they find a way of selling him, as he is no longer giving his best for the club.
