Ghana Announce Squad 27-Man Squad For Nigeria Clash

Ghana national team head coach Otto Addo has named a 27-man squad to face Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars will host the first leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25 before travelling to Abuja for the second leg on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Ghana list includes three debutants namely Denis Odoi, Elisha Owusu and Dennis Korsah.

Experienced goalkeeper Richard Ofori has returned to the squad to give the goalkeeper department a major boost.

Ghana captain Andre Ayew and striker Benjamin Tetteh have been omitted from the squad due to suspension.

Ayew’s brother Jordan is surprise inclusion in the squad after multiple reports indicated he has tested positive for coronavirus and is a major doubt for the tie.

The aggregate winner will earn a place in the five teams to represent Africa at the World Cup in Qatar in November this year.

World Cup 2022 takes place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18 where 32 teams will compete in eight groups. The full schedule will be confirmed after finals draw in April 2022.
