Generation Foot President: Our Infrastructure is as Good as the One in Europe

Facilities at Senegalese champions Generation Foot could match the ones at clubs in Europe, according to President Mady Toure.

Formed in 2003 and a feeder outfit to Metz FC in France, Generation produced the likes of Sadio Mane, Ismaila Sarr, Diafra Sakho and lost seven players to the European market last season.

However, that hasn’t stopped them from defending the Senegalese premier League title they secured last season.

And offering insight into the secret for their many successes, the club’s boss Mady Toure says the club’s facilities are at the same standard to the ones found in Europe.

“Every year we win the title with a very young team. Last year seven players left but we were able to put a solid team. Some of the players have been in the team since when they were 12, 13, 14 years. We have solid modern structures and we have nothing to envy European clubs about. So, without quality structures, we cannot achieve what we have done,” he said.

GF have a wide range of network of scouts including Cameroon, The Gambia, Mali and other African countries, Madi reveals.

The outfit annually arranges auditions with Metz in France where their best performing players are snatched and recruited by the French outfit.
