Franck Kessie Set to Complete AC Milan Medical Today

Ivory Coast international midfielder Franck Kessie, is set to become an AC Milan player should he pass team medicals scheduled for later today.

Reports from Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com confirm that AC Milan and Atalanta came to terms to finalize the transfer a few weeks ago, for an initial fee of €28 million.

The 20-year-old has had a tremendous 2016/17 season so far, scoring 7 goals as well contributing 3 assists in his first team season debut for Atalanta, attracting interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, Roma, and Napoli.

He was also part of the Ivory Coast U-17 and U-20 national team squads and was included in Michel Dussuyer’s 23-man squad ahead of the 2017 AFCON Games in Gabon, appearing three times. He has played an overall of 37 games this season for the Italian side.

Atalanta has been postponing the rumors until the end the season to make its final decision on the player but it’s believed that Kessie was convinced by Milan’s new revival project.

Chelsea and United could still step up their efforts to lure Kessie but Milan is confident they have completed all the necessary procedures to seal the deal.

Milan is also already in final talks with Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez as the club prepares to fight for a Champions League spot next season.
