Just days after parting ways with coach Fred Ambani, Wazito have confirmed the appointment of  Francis Kimanzi on Thursday.

The Badoer Investiments sponsored outfit announced the former Harambee Stars coach’s arrival on their official website.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Francis Kimanzi as our new head coach ahead of the 2020/21 FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) campaign that kicks off in a week’s time,” reads part of the club statement.

The former Mathare United coach has joined his fourth coaching job in the Kenyan top flight league having previously had stints with Sofapaka and Tusker FC.

Kimanzi left Mathare United coaching job in November last year to concentrate with Kenya national team coaching job.

He left the position in October on mutual consent though various reports indicate that he fell out with the Kenyan FA due to a matter concerning players’ selection.

The outspoken manager will be tasked with winning maiden FKF Premier League title for Wazito who have been known for firing and hiring coaches since their take over by Dubai- based businessman Ricardo Badoer.

On the other hand,  Wazito have confirmed former Kenya U20 coach John Kamau as the new assistant coach. The experienced gaffer has previously handled the now defunct Thika United, Posta Rangers, KCB FC, and FC Talanta. Kamau also served as Harambee Stars’ assistant coach.

Wazito finished the abandoned 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League season in the 13th position despite having done massive players recruitment.
