Ferjani Ssasi Set To Complete Al Duhail Switch

Zamalek midfielder Ferjani Ssasi is set to sign for Al Duhail in a lucrative deal for the Tunisian international.

Al Duhail beat Al-Rayyan to Ssasi signature and the highly rated defensive midfielder will put pen to paper on his new deal on Monday next week.

Al Duhail tried to sign him at the start of last season but Zamalek refused to relent with Ssasi going on to make over 100 appearances for them.

Ssasi will depart Cairo  for Doha where he is expected complete the move on Monday after recovering from a slight knock sustained during Tunisia’s international friendly against DR Congo.

The 29-year-old will fly direct to Tunisia following an official unveiling, which is expected mid next week.

It will be the second Asian club for Ssasi who joined Zamalek from Al Nasr where experienced tactician Sabri Lamouchi first spotted him.

Few days ago, Ssasi dropped a hit that he will be leaving the White Knights in a move that parked more speculations by claiming that he had achieved his goals with the club.

Al Duhail are seven-time Qatar champions and are currently coached by Frenchman Sabri Lamouchi. They were champions in the seasons 2010–11, 2011–12, 2013–14, 2014–15, 2016–17, 2017–18 and 2019–20.

Al Duhail have also won the Qatar Cup three times (2013, 2015 and 2018).
