Former Vipers SC striker Fahad Bayo has penned a letter to the club and its supporters as he bids farewell ahead of new chapter in Israel.

The Ugandan hitman signed a four-year deal last month to leave the club for Israel Premier League side Ashdod FC.

Taking to his social media, the Friends Kid Soccer Academy graduate penned a farewell letter to Venoms, expressing his gratitude for all the support he received during his time with the Kitende-based outfit.

“It’s been an incredible honor to represent one of the biggest clubs in Uganda, and to achieve things that few players ever manage to achieve,” Bayo wrote on his official Facebook page.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank the fans for their support during the good times and the bad. I also want to thank all the coaches I’ve worked with during my spell here; their knowledge and expertise have been invaluable.

“I’ve shared the pitch with some fantastic players in my season at Vipers, but the squad is the best I’ve ever been a part of. I’ll never forget my debut in the FUFA Super 8 final in Wankulukuku, and I’m glad I got to share it with such a terrific group of lads.

“It’s been a great ride. There have been ups, downs and everything in between, but I’ll always look back on my time at St Mary’s Kitende with fondness. I have no regrets – I’ve given my all, and I’ve always done my best to wear the shirt with pride, and to represent the club with dignity and professionalism.

Bayo was instrumental for Vipers in the fight for their fourth Ugandan Premier League title, scoring 12 league goals.

Vipers were leading with 54 points, against the defending champions’ tally of 50 points when the league was suspended due to the measures put in place to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Bayo kicked off his senior career at Proline FC where he played 68 games and scored 30 goals.

He played half of the 2017-18 Uganda Premier League season, scoring six goals in 14 league games before joining Zambian club Buildcon FC during the season break.

He was at Buildcon for one season where he played 39 games and scored nine goals in the process before signing for the Kitende-based side.
