Uganda defender Savio Kabugo is set to make his debut for AS Vita following the arrival of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC), Ducor Sports can confirm.

The Black Dolphins have been unable to use the 23-year-old they signed over three weeks ago due to the non-availability of his ITC.

The Congolese club were having difficulties in securing the vital document from Kabugo’s former side SC Villa.

A source close at DR Congo FA has confirmed the arrival of the ITC and says the Ugandan defender is free to make his debut in the side next game against Motema Pembe.

“The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has finally sent the documents that will see the player get the green light to feature for the AS Vita,” the source confirmed.

Kabugo availability serves as a massive boost for Coach Florent Ibenge who is desperate to use the ex-Proline FC man for the remaining games in the Linafoot.

The big defender signed a three year deal with Vita on December to become the second Ugandan to be signed by the club after Yunus Sentamu, who featured for the same side four years ago.

Vita are one of the sides tipped as serious contenders for this year’s CAF Champions League. Their next match of the competition will be tomorrow against Tanzanian side Simba FC.
