Ex-Manchester United Star Linked with Al Ahly’s Managerial Job

Former Manchester United star and Hull City manager Steve Bruce is likely to move to Africa to take up Al Ahly Sporting Club’s coaching job.

Former Manchester United star and Hull City manager Steve Bruce is likely to move to Africa to take up Al Ahly Sporting Club’s coaching job.

Egyptian Premier League winners Ahly’s managerial seat has been void since the departure of Patrice Carteron.

Bruce was last overseeing Championship side Aston Villa and is now a free agent following the expiry of his deal in October this year.

There have been talks of Steve moving to the faltering EPL sides Fulham, Southampton or Huddersfield Town but a transfer to Al Ahly looks stronger, according to reports.

Weighing in on the rumor, the Cairo-based club’s spokesperson Adley El-Keiy has done little to dismiss the claims in a recent interview.

“We have noticed that there is a huge difference in point of views between the fans on Steve Bruce although he has not arrived yet,” El-Keiy told Al Ahly TV.

“We do not know yet if he will arrive or not but our meeting today was not regarding the arrival of anyone,” El-Keiy claimed.

The Red Devils sit fourth in the standings, registering six wins, and having played fewer games than any side in the Presentation-sponsored North African country’s championship.
