Esperance To Learn Their African Champions League Opponents On Tuesday

Esperance de Tunis will learn their CAF Champions League quarterfinal face on Tuesday when the draw is made for and whoever they get will present a mighty challenge to the Blood and Gold.

The four-time African champions secured their place to in the quarterfinals after finishing on top of their pool and they will face either defending champions Al Ahly, ES Setif, CR Belouizdad or Petro du Luanda.

None of those three teams are appetizing prospects‚ though Esperance may feel that a match-up against Petro du Luanda will give them the best possible chance of making it to the semis.

Esperance does not have any recent experience facing Petro du Luanda, but have face serious challenge in defeating the Angolan teams in the past edition of the tournament.

Al Ahly breezed through to the last eight after finishing second defeating Al-Hilal of Sudan in the last round with the goal of Hussein Al-Shahat.

Esperance has previously face Al Ahly in the quarter-finals of the previous edition and won it 4-1 in the two group matches.

The other three clubs that qualified for the last eight are Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Raja Club Athletic (Morocco) and Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco).

CAF Director of Completions Samson Adamu will be there to conduct the draw and he will be helped by  Angolan legend Flavio Amado and Tunisian top manager Mouine Chaabani.

The draw, scheduled for Tuesday, 05 April 2022 in Cairo, will be broadcasted on CAF platforms from 15:00 local time (13:00 GMT).
