ES Setif Eye Second Successive Win

Algerian outfit Entente Sportive Setifienne will aim to retain their place at the top of Group B when they face Morocco’s Raja Casablanca on Friday evening.

The match at the Stade du 5 Juliet is set to kickoff at 19h00 GMT.

The Setif based side opened their group phase campaign with 1-0 win over Guinea’s Horoya AC away in Conakry last weekend.

Ahmed Kendouci scored the decisive goal two minutes before halftime against a ten-man Horoya to claim three points and move top of the standings.

The last time the Black Angels tasted a defeat in this year’s Champions League was against Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou away last October last year.

Since then Nabil Kouki’s side have done well in the continental competition and a victory on Friday will see them maintain top place on Group B.

Meanwhile, Raja Casablanca will be looking for their second consecutive Champions League Group B victory when they face ES Setif on Friday night in Setif.

The Green Eagles surprised South Africa’s Amazulu FC when they defeated them 1-0 in the opening Group A encounter at home last weekend.

Skipper Mohsine Moutaouali scored the lone goal of the match taking Raja top of the group with three points, same as Setif.

Coach Mark Wilmots praised his side for their performance at home, but will expect nothing less than a victory and the collection of three points at home on Friday night.

Raja are the current holders of the CAF Confederation Cup and among the biggest teams on the continent, providing a baptism of fire for Setif.

In reaching the group stage, Raja started participating in the first round where they dismissed LPRC Oilers from Liberia.
