English Premier League Striker Mousset Willing to Play for Senegal

France-born Sheffield United’s striker Lys Mousset has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Senegal gaffer Aliou Cisse.

France-born Sheffield United’s striker Lys Mousset has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Senegal gaffer Aliou Cisse.

The 24-year-old believes he’s more aligned to Senegal than his birthplace, revealing he feverishly watches Taranga Lions’ games.

The West Africans and Nations Cup deputy kings face Guinea Bissau in a would-be tricky showdown this month and Lys hopes he comprises Cisse’s list of invited stars.

One thing, he will have a lot of battling to do with Senegal. Just like  France, Senegal are well equipped in attack.

It is true that I have always been attracted to Senegal. I don’t watch a lot of football, but when Senegal plays, I am always in front of my TV. I support them like crazy,’ he told Goal.com in a detailed interview.

“Yes, he (coach Cisse) called me. Everything went very well. He asked me if I was well and if Emilien Mendy was indeed my father.

“I replied “yes” and he asked me for his number to speak with him. He didn’t tell me he was going to select me, but if it were to happen I would be delighted. I will look carefully at the next list and hope I will be there,” he said.

Lys is on an impressive run with Sheffield United having joined from AFC Bournemouth where he found minutes herculean to nail.
