The Egyptian FA has confirmed an international friendly between the Pharaohs and the Lone Stars set for November 7 in Cairo.

The Egyptian FA has confirmed an international friendly between the Pharaohs and the Lone Stars set for November 7 in Cairo.

Discussions have been going on in the last couple of weeks, between EFA and their Liberian counterparts via unnamed match agent.

Yesterday, Egyptian national team manager Mohamad Barakat announced that the match will take place Borg El Arab Stadium in the capital.

This will be Pharaohs’ second preparatory match ahead of their opening 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya on November 15 before facing Comoros four days later.

Hossam El Badry’s men first played Botswana in October in a match that ended with a 1-0 victory for the Pharaohs, thanks to a goal from Al-Ahly’s Hamdy Fathy.

Egypt have already started training ahead of the match due to the interruption of domestic football as the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in the country from November 8 to November 22.

Striker, Mohammed Salah is likely to miss the Liberia friendly, as his team Liverpool will be preparing to face Manchester City a day after the Pharaohs’ friendly.
