Dennis Oliech in South Africa for Free State Stars Trials

South Africa Premier Soccer League side Free State Stars are considering a move for former Kenyan international Dennis Oliech.

The 33-year-old striker has been without a club since parting ways with United Arab Emirates (UAE) side Dubai CSC over two years ago and has been attending trials at Goble Park since Friday.

“Yes he trained on Friday with the group after he did a fitness test and result was not bad at all. On Saturday we played a match so he trained at the gym on his own. On Monday, players are free so he will train at gym again.

Eymael told Ducor Sports on Monday.

The coach is reportedly set to advice the team to give former Harambee Stars talisman a six-month contract.

Oliech had earlier been linked with a return to his former French Ligue 1 side, AJ Auxerre, earlier this year but the move seems to have hit a snag.

Capped 68 times with the Harambee Stars the striker retired from international football in 2016 having joined the national team as a youngster in 2002.

He played his last game in 2015 when Kenya lost to Zambia in a 2017 Afcon qualifier in Nairobi.
