Cranes Head To Cameroon For Four-Team Tournament

Uganda Cranes flew out to Yaounde on Monday ahead of the opening Four Nations Tournament in Cameroon.

The East Africans will kick-off the event in the opening fixture against Zambia at the Japoma Stadium. The later match will feature hosts Cameroon against Niger.

Cranes have been in camp since the beginning of last week in for the pre-CHAN tournament scheduled to run from 1st – 7th January 2021.

Coach Jonathan McKinstry believes the right blend of youth and experience will yield the desired result as the team prepares for the tournament.

The Cranes mentor highlighted that a balanced mix of youth and experience would be key in the team’s performance as they plan to use the tournament to prepare for the 2020 CHAN finals.

Cranes had their only training session at the MTN Omondi Stadium Stadium on Sunday. The squad has a clean bill of health with the exception of goalkeepers coach Fred Kajoba who is currently under isolation after breaking camp rules.

KCCA FC players were also left behind and will join the team after their African Confederation Cup fixture against AS Kigali.
