Congolese international Guy Mbenza is close to completing his expected move to Belgian top division side Cercle Brugge from Tunisian top tier outfit Stade Tunisien.

Ducor Sports understands that Cercle has splashed around $300,000 to acquire his services.

The 19-year-old is set to put pen on paper for a three-year-deal with Bruges-based side in the next few hours.

Reports on Mbenza’s move filled the Congolese media on early Wednesday.

“It’s now official, Guy Mbenza has definitively joined Cercle Brugge,” a statement on drcpf.com read.

He leaves Stade Tunisien after two stellar seasons and statistics are quite clear as he has six goals in 12 matches in the current season.

Cercle had reportedly entered the race with Sporting Kansas City before his agent announced that the Belgian side has reached an agreement with Stade Tunisien to acquire the services of the youngster.

Cercle Brugge is a team owned by French giants AS Monaco who use the club to help with youth development since the beginning of 2017.

They host their home games at the 30,000-seater Jan Breydel Stadium which they share with fierce rivals Club Brugge who also play in the top tier.
