CHAN 2020: Yassine Blow for Tunisia as Top Striker Injured before Libya Clash

Tunisia have been dealt a blow by the absence of top striker Taha Yassine Khenissi.

Yassine, African club champions Esperance’s go-to-man for goals in recent seasons including the senior national team, the 28-year-old had been tipped to lead the line for Tunisia in their CHAN 202 qualifier with Libya.

However, he is unavailable for selection, a thing coming just days before they face Libya in what promises to be an intriguing match.

The news comes as a huge setback for the Carthage Eagles’ gaffer who’d counted on Yassine as key in his roster before he picked up an injury in the senior team’s goalless draw with Cameroon.

The attacker’s absence will be felt but Hazem Haj Hassan of Etoile du Sahel has been summoned to fill the void though not considered a like-for-like replacement for Taha.
