CHAN 2018 Final: Hosts Morocco to meet Nigeria in Final.

Hosts Morocco will face off with heavy weights Nigeria in the final of the on going Championship for African Nations (CHAN).
Playing at a crowd-packed Complexe Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco beat its North African rivals Libya 3-1 after extra-time to book a spot in their first ever final in the competition. The first half ended scoreless but CHAN’s new record top scorer Ayoub El Kaabi scored his seventh of the tournament on the 73rd minute mark to give Morocco the lead. Libya equalized with 6 minutes to go forcing the game into extra time.
El Kaabi got his eight of the tournament once more giving Morocco an advantage in the 97th minute before Walid El Karti put the game to bed with a 97th minute penalty.
Morocco become the first host nation to make the Final since the tournament began in Côte d’Ivoire in 2009.
In the second game at the Grande Stade Marrakech, Nigeria edged Sudan in a close 1-0 win to also qualify for the first time ever in the Final of the tournament. Nigeria took an early lead in the 16th minute through Gabriel Okochuku going on to dominate most of the proceedings throughout most of the first half.
They however had a scare in the second half after losing Ifeanyi to a red card but even with a man down, Sudan’s attack wasn’t lucky enough to find the back of the net despite having 17 shots on goal.
The third place match will be played in Marrakech on February 3rd between Libya and Sudan whereas the final will be in Casablanca on Sunday February 4th.
