Saidou Ismaila is delighted after his one-man display earned Cameroon a walk past Morocco –their second in the ongoing U-17s.

The North Africans had looked headed for a win with a Tawfik Bentayeb’s 22nd-minute opening goal before Ismaila climbed off the substitutes’ bench to torn Morocco to tatters by delivering a brilliant two goals.

Ismaila ran free into the opposition box after being put through following a defense-splitting pass which he delectably packed past the hapless Moroccan net-minder in the 73rd minute.

The third and the game’s final goal came much as a gift. The Moroccan centre-back, under pressure from an advancing Saidou, failed to keep his composure leading him to be dispossessed as Ismaila pounced at the free pass to goal with a quick slotting past Morocco’s goalkeeper Taha Mourid.

On a recollection, the 16-year-old goal-scorer is thrilled by his feat as he targets reaching the youth World Cup.

“It was good for me to score the equalizer for my team, but I feel great that I also scored the match winner that put us in a good chance of going to the FIFA U17 World Cup,” Ismaila said.

He adds: “My coach told me that today I will not start because he wanted to give me a chance in the last 20 minutes and I am happy that I did well.”
