Asante Kotoko on Wednesday afternoon jetted out of the country for their 2020/2021 African Champions League preliminary round first leg clash against FC Nouadhibou in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

Asante Kotoko on Wednesday afternoon jetted out of the country for their 2020/2021 African Champions League preliminary round first leg clash against FC Nouadhibou in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

The Porcupine Warriors held their last training session in Ghana yesterday before coach Maxwell Kanodu revealed the final 20-man squad for the trip.

The team left Accra on high in confidence but severely disadvantaged in terms of personnel, as stalwart defender Habib Mohammed and captain Felix Annan failed to travel.

Mohammed has a red card that he received against Etoile du Sahel last season, while Annan is nursing an injury picked last Sunday during their Ghana Premier League game against Berekum Chelsea.

The same situation goes for Augustine Okrah, Razak Abalora, Mudasiru Salifu, Fabio Gama dos Santos and Guinean forward Naby Keita.

“We are heading to Mauritania because we know that we have to get something away if we want to go to the next level,” coach Kanodu said on before the team’s departure.

Kotoko squad:

Goalkeepers: Kwame Baah Ibrahim Danlad

Defenders: Samuel Frimpong, Christopher Nakai, Nettey Patrick, Asmah Imoro, Ibrahim Yussif, Mubarik Abdul, Ganiu Ismail, Wahab Adams, Andrews Kwadwo Appau

Midfielders: Kwame Adom, Frimpong Emmanuel, Keyekeh Emmanuel, Sarkodie Sulley, Ali Muniru, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Godfred Asiamah

Forwards:  Evans Adomako, Kwame Opoku, Ibrahim Osman, William Opoku Mensa
