Highly revered coach Mike Mutebi has made an astounding statement after claiming all titles won in the Ugandan Premier League the last two decades were fixed.

Highly revered coach Mike Mutebi has made an astounding statement after claiming all titles won in the Ugandan Premier League the last two decades were fixed.

Known to be a frank-talker, Mutebi’s remarks have had tongues wagging and more worrying is that the Kampala City Capital Authority (KCCA) FC coach insists he wouldn’t mind having his arm hacked off if it turns out his assertions are untrue.

The controversial but respected tactician first made the remarks in 2016 when he said only the league gong he won for KCCA in the 2015/16 season was genuine.

The comments back then did not spark a furore until he repeated the words again at a recent sending-off of a local football executive in the East African country’s capital.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “All the titles that have been won in the last twenty years have been fixed. It’s not only KCCA but Villa, Express, you know URA.”   [/perfectpullquote]

“I have known but because some of you who are not candid and frank, you know these things and you fear,” the outspoken erstwhile Villa and Express technical man said, adding budgets were even drafted to fund these schemes and Ugandan teams stuttered when it comes to CAF competitions consequently.

“I am honest. Yes, there used to be a budget for those years not only at KCCA and these were found out at the continent where they were not aided.”

Mike’s allegations come as a huge blow at a time Ugandan football has began scaling heights in the East.

The Ugandan FA or league organising committee were yet to confirm or deny this at press time.
