Italian side Bologna are reportedly willing to let Ghanaian midfielder Godfred Donsah leave La Rossa this summer, with the player reportedly set for an emotional return to Verona.

The 23-year old spent one season on loan away from Bologna in search of playing time but endured a miserable spell at Cercle Brugge due to nagging injury.

Now Donsah is poised to move back to the team with which he made his name in an attempt to revitalize his career, according to reports in Ghana.

Ghanaian publication Ghanaweb ran the headline on Monday stating that the club is ready to sell Donsah for 6-7 million euros.

Bologna are understood to be happy to sanction the permanent deal, however, the fresh reports add that Donsah’s switch will be dependent on medical results.

The Black Stars midfielder is currently training at home after the current Belgian season was cancelled due to coronavirus.

Once linked with Juventus, Manchester United and Arsenal, Donsah joined Bologna initially on a season-long loan from Cagliari n 2015, after which he penned a four-year contract to stay at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

The midfielder first represented the west Africans at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand but has not been called up to the senior side since a disappointing performance on debut in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt in 2017.
