Bertrand Traore Aston Villa Transfer Almost Complete

Burkina Faso international Bertrand Traore is on the verge of joining English Premier League side Aston Villa from French Ligue One side Lyon.

According to Canal Plus Afrique journalist Moussavou Billa, Traore will fly to London on Monday to complete the £20 million move to Villa Park.

The length of the contract is one of the issues that are currently being negotiated between the player’s representatives and Villa.

The winger will then undergo some medical checks upon his arrival before putting pen to paper, just days after Lyon rejected an earlier bid from Villa amounting to £15m.

Last week, Lyon also rejected a bid from newly promoted English Premier League outfit Fulham as they maintained their stand of selling him for a fee of over £20 million.

Crystal Palace and Leicester City were also interested in the winger for a couple of months but their offers were always turned down by French side.

Traore has now opted to leave after finding himself frozen out of their Champions League finish last season and spending more time on the bench

The striker featured in 35 matches for Lyon last term, netting four goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

The 25-year-old, who joined Lyon from English Premier League side Chelsea, has 52 caps for Burkina Faso with eight goals.
