Ayema FC custodian Damilola Wilson is happy to have kept a clean sheet in the Benin Vitalor Ligue 1 clash against JAC on Saturday.
Damilola made a couple of good saves to deny the visitors the goals in a match that Ayema walked tall above JAC, winning the highly charged match 1-0.
“I am happy that we did manage to get a result and the clean sheet for me as a goalkeeper,” he said in an interview with Ducor Sports.o
“We looked very good in the match as we played very pleasing football and I trust the fans enjoyed themselves.”
The former Energie FC goalie is having a good season so far and he is hoping his club would be crowned champions at the end of the season.
“Even though we are struggling a bit for now to get wins, we are still the best team in the country because as a team we are playing good football,” he added.
Damilola, who has played for Benin’s U-17 and U-20 sides, also promised to find his way into the senior national team which is under new coach Michel Dussuyer.
“My objective for new year is looking for bigger and better opportunities. Simply, I want to get my position back at the national team,” he concluded.
Ayema FC travels to Cotonou on Saturday 5 January to take on Soleil FC in their next league fixture.
