Belgian Club Sign Hottest Gem in Senegalese League

Belgian side Club Brugge have snapped up the hottest gem emerging off Senegal’s production line in Yousouph Badji.

Belgian side Club Brugge have snapped up the hottest gem emerging off Senegal’s production line in Youssouph Badji.

A striker, Badjie sealed his switch to Brugge following completion of a medical upon agreeing on personal terms.

The First Division A outfit and the current table-toppers of the Belgian domestic league have tracked the player’s progress for a while since his burst onto the scene during the recent U-20 World Cup.

He had not turned 18 by then but the European club still kept in touch with West African’s local Senegalese side Ziguinchor-based Casa Sport.

He flew into Brussels last week after both sides reached an agreement over the transfer which took weeks to sort with the sum quoted to be in excess of €150,000.

Youssouph is expected to begin his development with Brugges’ B-team with an eye to break into the first team. He has compatriot Krepin Diatta by his side to ease his easy integration.
