French-born Ludovic Batelli’s position as Algeria’s U-23 coach is increasingly becoming untenable, Ducor Sports can report.

The 56-year-old, who has coached virtually all youth categories of France national teams, could see his stay at Algeria shortened following a dismal showing in a recent competition.

The erstwhile goalkeeper was the man assigned to lead Algeria’s Olympic team but got out of the tournament after losing to an enterprising Ghanaian side.

The West Africans sailed through on 2-1 aggregate after beating the North Africans 1-0 at home this week Tuesday.

Consequently, Batelli risks getting the axe wielded on him, information reaching Ducor Sports desk from Algiers intimate.

A source hints Algeria’s football boss Zetchi Khereddine is umbraged over their Dream Team’s elimination whom he had hoped seeing them book a place in Tokyo events.

The Algeria FA’s spokesperson couldn’t be reached for comments at press time.
