Zimbabwe and Azam FC forward Prince Dube is set to return to action in January 2021 after a long injury lay-off.

Dube has not featured for the Tanzanian giants this season after picking an injury while playing for Azam in a Tanzania Mainland Premier League match three weeks ago.

According to the 23-year-old former Highlanders striker the recovery process after the operation has gone well and couldn’t wait to be back.

“I’m feeling much better now after successful surgery. I returned here in Tanzania last week and have since started doing some light gym workouts concentrating on the lower part of my body,” said Dube in a telephone interview from Dar es Salaam.

“I’m set to bounce back to full action in mid-January and it’s really sad that I picked up an injury at a time I had proved to be doing well for my new club.

“However, I have since accepted it because getting injured is part of the game. Hopefully, when I return, I will be able to carry on from where I left.

Dube has been in fine form this season and has so far managed to score six goals. He is among the top scorers in the league which has reportedly attracted interest from European clubs.

Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca are reported to have placed an US$1 million offer to secure his signature.

Endowed with good ball control and ability to score crucial goals for his paymasters, Dube was in 2016 crowned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Rookie of the Year.
