Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko will face Burkina Faso Premier League and FA Cup champions Rahimo FC in a friendly on Sunday 21 July at Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The two sides face-off in a friendly match that will kick off at 1500 hrs in what is part of their pre-season preparations ahead of 2019/20 CAF Champions League campaigns which start next month.

Kotoko communication manager Samuel Sarfo Duku has confirmed the friendly match whilst exuding confidence that both teams will benefit from the clash.

“We are playing Rahimo on Sunday afternoon. I believe the friendly match will be good for both teams because we are all in pre-season,” Duku said.

The Porcupine Warriors are expected to parade the likes of George Abege, Alexis Arnoud, and Godfred Asiamah for the very first time when the side take on the Burkinabe’s.

Kotoko will be without their dependable midfielder Kwame Bonsu who has left for Tunisian giants Esperance.

The Kjetil Zachariassen’s coached side will miss the services of long-serving captain Amos Frimpong as he is on verge of joining AS Kaloum of Guinea.

Asante Kotoko earned the right to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League after emerging winners of the Normalisation Committee Special Competition.
