Young Angolan striker Zito Luvumbo has joined Italian Serie A side Cagliari Calcio in the current summer transfer window.

The young striker joins from Angolan giants Primeiro de Agosto on a five-year-deal after passing his medical examination on Wednesday.

Luvumbo, who had a trial at Manchester United’s academy in February 19, has been linked with several European and African in recent months.

“Luvumbo has signed a five-year contract with Cagliari Calcio after passing his medical,” a source at Agosto told Ducor Sports on Thursday.

“We [Primeiro de Agosto] believe the club is the best destination for him to continue his development.

Egypt Premier League moneybags Pyramids were after the services of striker but they were put back by Agosto’s  €1 million asking price.

The bustling wing forward was brought up in Portugal and played junior football at Benfica and for Portugal at under-21 level.

Luvumbo made four appearances for Primeiro de Agosto in the CAF Champions League this season, providing one assist.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise up the ranks at an international level, having starred at the U-17 World Cup 2019 in Brazil.

He also has two caps for the Angola national team already. Luvumbo made his debut in their World Cup qualifier against the Gambia last year in September.
