Al Ahly And Raja To Battle For CAF Super Cup

Egyptian giants Al Ahly will battle with Moroccan counterparts Raja Casablanca in the 2021 CAF Super Cup match on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 17h00 GMT.

The match is scheduled to be played at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Al Ahly qualified for the annual match as the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League winners having defeated South Africa’ giants Kaizer Chiefs in the final.

The record-African champions giants are heading into this encounter undefeated in their last 22 matches in all competitions.

Their most recent competitive game was an Egyptian Premier League match against Smouha, who they defeated 4-1 three weeks ago.

They will look to their star forwards Percy Tau and Ayman Ashraf.

Al Ahly will be going fota second straight Super Cup after beating RS Berkane 2-0 last May in Doha.

Meanwhile, Raja qualified for the prestigious game as the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup winners having defeated Algeria’s JS Kabylie 2-1 on 10 July 2021 in Cotonou, Benin.

The Moroccan giants are undefeated in their last 16 matches in all competitions.

They secured a 1-0 Morocco Botola 1 win over Hassania Union Sport Agadir in their most recent competitive game over a week ago.

Raja will be making their fourth appearance in the Super Cup having lifted the trophy twice in 2000 and 2019.
