Agogo Joins Gor Mahia

Kenyan Premier League side, Gor Mahia has completed the signing of striker Kennedy ‘Agogo’ Otieno from Western Stima.

Agogo is expected to strengthen the team’s forward line ahead of the 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League campaign that kicks off at the end of the month.

Known for his ferocious left-foot strikes, Agogo is best remembered for denying Gor Mahia the Kenyan Premier League title in 2012. Gor Mahia needed to beat Thika to clinch the title but he spoilt their party by scoring for Thika in the one-all draw, a result that saw Tusker crowned champions.

Gor Mahia is currently rebuilding following the exit of some of its key players. Captain Harun Shakava has moved to Nkana FC in Zambia while Francis Kahata has joined Simba Sports Club, while lead striker Jacques Tuyisenge has moved to Angolan side, Petro Atletico.

Otieno becomes Gor Mahia’s 11th signing of the window following the arrival of Abdala Shira, Tobias Otieno. Curtis Wekesa, Dickson Ambundo, Dennis Oalo, David Mapigano, Elvis Ronack, Maurice Ojwang, Gislein Yikpe Gnamian and Francis Afriyie.
