African Champions Esperance Plagued by Injuries

African club Champions Esperance (ES) are sweating over injuries to two key players.

Chamseddine Dhaouadi and Bilal Bensaha were rocked by muscle abrasions during the Tunisian club’s victory over Chadian outfit Elect Sport yesterday.

Esperance ended up running out 2-1 winners in a narrow 3-2 aggregate victory in what was a scare for the Tunisians against their minnow oppositions.

The injuries are confirmed to be knocks sustained in the fiercely contested encounter after the players were subjected to examinations.

Club doctors have confirmed the pair won’t be available for selection until three weeks later – a development coming as a big blow for the Tunisian domestic league champions.

Coach Mouine Chaabani, whose outfit lag by a point to Monastir, play next week Wednesday against Lebanese outfit Nejmah FC in the Arab Club Cup.
