AFCON 2021: Comoros Name Squad For First Finals

Comoros coach Amir Abdou has announced his final 27-man squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, with high-profile inclusions like Kassim Abdallah, Youssof Mchangama and Mohammed Youssouf.

Un-attached custodian Ali Ahamada is named while the duo of Salim Mozini and Ibroihim Youssouf  did not make the cut.

Coach Abdou has opted to go for Iyad Mohamed,Faiz Mattoir Ahmed Mogni, AliM’Madi and Moussa Djoumoi as his attacking option.

AC Ajjacio defender Chaker Aldahour, Chateauroux midfielder Bendjaloud Youssouf and FC Zurich striker Faiz Selemani are also in the 28-man travelling party.

Experienced defender Nadjim Abdou will captain the squad in Cameroon, where Comoros will face Gabon, Ghana and Morocco in Group C.

The tournament begins on 9 January, with the final on 6 February.

Midfielders: Rafidine Abdullah (Stade Lausanne-Ouchy), Nakibou Aboubakari (Sete), Fouad Bachirou (Omonia Nicosia), Said Bakari (RKC Waalwjik), Yacine Bourhane (Go Ahead Eagles), Nasser Chamed (Gaz Metan Medias), Youssouf Mchangama (En-Avant Guingamp), Iyad Mohamed (AJ Auxerre), Mohamed Youssouf (AC Ajaccio).

Forwards: El Fardou Ben Mohamed (Red Star Belgrade), Moussa Djoumoi (Saint-Priest), Faiz Mattoir (Cholet), Mohamed Mchangama (FC Nouadhibou), Ali Mmadi (Epinal), Ahmed Mogni (Annecy), Faïz Selemani (Kortrijk).
