AFC Leopards National Executive Committee has suspended its youth team coach Boniface Ambani with immediate effect after he took the club to court.

AFC Leopards National Executive Committee has suspended its youth team coach Boniface Ambani with immediate effect after he took the club to court.

The former Leopards striker who has been in charge of the junior side since 2016 had taken the club to court seeking to stop club elections slated for Sunday 23rd June after the body in charge of election barred him from vying.

This came after the election body ruled that Ambani was ineligible to vie as he is not a registered member of the club.

The case was dismissed by the High Court of Kenya on Friday morning and the club will now go to the polls as planned.

Hours later, the club announced that it has asked Ambani to step down from his position.

“The National Executive Committee has asked the head coach of the Youth team, Mr Boniface Ngaira Ambani to step aside with immediate effect until further notice,” the club said in a statement.

Daniel Shikanda, Ronald Namai, Ben Musundi will contest for the Chairman post while. Choge Maurice Chichi and Olivier Napali will contest for the position of treasurer. Robert Omusawa and Oliver Sikuku will contest for the Secretary-General position.
