AC Milan Not Interested In Signing Egyptian Midfielder

Italian giants AC Milan are not interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny during the January transfer window, according to reports.

Last month, the Red and Blacks were strongly linked with the move of the 27-year-old, who is currently on loan at Besiktas.

One of the reports claimed representatives of Milan had made contact with the agent of the player, suggesting Stefano Pioli had spoken to Elneny on phone regarding next summer’s transfer.

However, Milan are understood to have been baffled with such stories, with Pioli having had no conversations with Egyptian international in private or otherwise to discuss any deal.

Elneny joined Arsenal in January 2016 from FC Basel and has made 89 appearances for the north London club.

The former Al Ahly star dropped out of contention for a starting place at the Gunners in part to the last year’s signings of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guenduozi.

Although there is a buy-out clause for Elneny at Besiktas, there are strong indications that they may snub that offer due to his current form.

Besiktas currently sit eighth on the league table with 18 points, just one away from the top four and three behind league leaders Sivasspor.
