Abdu Lumala Has Unfinished Business In Europe

Pyramids winger Abdu Lumala has vowed to finish what he started in Europe before life became interesting for him in the Egyptian Premier League.

Lumala has been one of the standout attackers in the Egyptian Premier League this season and has been getting a lot of attention for his solid performances.

The Uganda international started his career in Sweden where he was plying his trade Kalmar FF before joining Pyramids.

In a recent Whatsapp forum chat, the sought-after winger revealed he still has a desire to earn a move back to Europe because he feels he has still to show his best.

“It’s been very difficult for me to adopt because of Pyramids system of play. It’s not a game for me and hopefully, very soon I will be moving back to Europe. That’s for sure,” Lumala said as quoted by Daily Monitor.

The 22-year-old who helped Uganda reach Round of 16 at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations was believed to have been brought to the Egyptian club by former national coach Sebastien Desabre.

However, since Desabre’s departure, his playtime has been limited and he has suggested that he is not happy being on the bench under the Croatian manager Ante Cacic, who succeeded the Frenchman.

“No ambitious player in the world would want to be on the bench. It is a character. I want to always be playing,” added the winger.

“There were many links to many teams but this was the best deal for me because I was with my coach.”

Apart from Kalmar FF, Lumala also had stints in Sweden with at Helsingborgs IF, IFK Varnamo and at Syrianska FC.

Throughout his career, the winger had contributed to 21 goals and 12 assists in 130 games for the five clubs.
