A month after abdicating from his chairman post, Chidha Charfeddine has surfaced again to save a troubling situation at local Tunisian premier League side Etoile du Sahel.

A month after abdicating from his chairman post, Chidha Charfeddine has surfaced again to save a troubling situation at local Tunisian premier League side Etoile du Sahel.

The 67-year-old politician vacated the club, having grown disillusioned over the state of affairs, key of which was finances of the team.

A rebellion by players in the form of refusal to train has been ongoing in severe protest over the non-payment of their wages.

An internal election is scheduled for 10th January next year with no candidates emerging or voicing interest to fill the chairmanship void.

And with no one willing to inherit moulds of debts hovering over the club, Chidha has resurfaced to the fore a month after resigning.

The politician said he will only take charge of the club in the lead up to congress and will cease to lead if a new chairman is elected in 2020.
