Difaa El Jadida To Take Legal Action Against Congolese Midfielder

Difaa El Jadida are constituting legal action against Congolese international midfielder Ricky Tulenge over alleged misconduct after failing turn up for training.

The player is said to have boycotted rejoining the Moroccan side after pocketing his signing fee and did not answer calls as the club sought to know his whereabouts.

El Jadidi claimed the player had failed to live up to his expectations as stipulated in his contract and had also declined to communicate, thus creating more tension and anxiety.

Sources within the club confirmed to Ducor Sports that the midfielder’s resistance to come back from DR Congo follows the failure by Moroccan authorities to grant a visa to his family and specifically his daughter who is hospitalized in Kinshasa.

The source claimed that immediately after the Moroccan Embassy failed to grant the visa, the player got agitated and decided he would rather risk being sued by Jadida than return to Morocco.

The new development has left Jadida authorities fuming and have already sent a protest letter to Royal Moroccan Federation and his former side DC Motema Pembe.

“We have done everything as per the regulations with DCMP, the DR Congo FA and the player to complete this transfer, all of which is on record,” reads part of the letter as translated from French.

“We, therefore, have no choice other than to protest this unsporting behaviour and thus we will be seeking justice from FIFA,”

Last night, Tulenge’s advisors refused to comment on when the unsettled Congolese would fly back to Morocco but it is clear that the stand-off between club and player has now reached a critical stage and the next few days will be crucial to his future.

Separate reports indicate that Tulenge may join Congolese top division side AS Vita, with Jadida terming it an impossibility.
