Ghanaian Striker Jordan Ayew Joins Crystal Palace On Three-Year Deal

Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew has signed a three-year deal with Crystal Palace from Swansea, the English Premier League side announced on Thursday.

The 27-year-old leaves Swansea, where the forward had a season-long loan spell, at a fee thought to be around £2.5m.

He made 20 appearances (including 14 starts) in the Premier League and found the back of the net once for Roy Hodgson’s side.

“I am very happy [to have returned]. I really enjoyed myself last season,” Ayew said, as reported by Palace’s official website.

Ayew’s permanent move comes on the back of a good showing for Ghana at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where he notched two goals in Ghana’s four games in the competition – as well as a successful penalty in his side’s shoot-out defeat to Tunisia in the last round of 16.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson did not hide his joy upon completion of Jordan move.

“We are delighted to secure Jordan’s services for another three seasons at Crystal Palace. He has proved himself as a dedicated and hard-working member of the squad, and certainly played his part in the club securing its highest ever Premier League points tally in the last campaign.”

Jordan had joined Swansea from Aston Villa in January 2017 where he netted 12 goals in 58 appearances in all competitions before signing the season-long deal with Palace last summer.
