BREAKING: Stock Theft Case Against Botswana Midfielder Ofentse Nato Withdrawn

The Botswana Police Services confirmed that the case against Township Rollers defensive midfielder, Ofentse Nato has been withdrawn.

The former Chippa United player along with an accomplice, believed to be his herd-boy, were accused of being in possession of two goats which they were unable to account for.

Nato and his co-accused were arrested on the wee hours of Sunday after a search on a Honda Fit that they were driving near the Kudumatse intersection.

According to the police, the case has been pending at Mogobane Customary Court and was settled out of court after the goat’s owner forgave them

“The court appearance was supposed to be on Tuesday, February 19 but the complainant forgave the co-accused,” reads a statement signed by Ramotswa Police station commander, superintendent Keoagile Tau.

Nato has had an illustrious career which has seen him ply his trade in South Africa and India, having played locally for Gaborone United.

The Botswana international last played for his current team, Township Rollers, in November last year when they faced off against his former employers GU in the Mascom Top 8 semi-finals.

Since returning from Atletico Kolkata in India two years ago, Nato’s career has been on a decline and his off-the-field behavior could spell the end for him.
