The competition will begin with the opening match at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan on 13 January 2024 while the final will be played on 11 February.

Out of the 48 teams competing for 24 slots in the finals of the competition, six teams have already qualified while the others’ fate will be decided during the remaining match days in June and September of this year.

Six teams, including defending champions Senegal, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Morocco, South Africa, and Tunisia have booked their place at next year’s AFCON.

But several countries have also already been eliminated ahead of the two remaining sets of fixtures.

Botswana, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, and Sao Tome and Principe are the nations now playing only for pride.
