Man United Defender Eric Bailly Badly Injured in Chelsea Loss

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho fears his star defender Eric Bailly suffered a serious knee ligament injury in the humiliating 4-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday 23rd.

The Ivory Coast international has been impressive since his £30m summer transferred from Villarreal cementing his place in Mourinho’s starting team just after one game.

Bailly limped off in the 52nd minute after getting tangled with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard in what Mourinho believes could be a long term injury.

When asked about the extent of Bailly’s injury in a post-game conference, Mourinho didn’t specify but said,

The self-proclaimed Special One added that the injury is “In his knee, in the ligament area and that “He feels that it is really bad.”

Bailly has only missed one United fixture this season winning consecutive Man of the match performances in three out of four games last Month.

The 22-year-old was voted Manchester United August player of the month and his injury will definitely worsen the team’s woes.
