Zesco United Target Sogne Yacouba Joins Medeama

Former Asante Kotoko striker Sognè Yacouba has joined another Ghana Premier League side Medeama, according to reports.

Former Asante Kotoko striker Sognè Yacouba has joined another Ghana Premier League side Medeama, according to reports.

Yacouba had been clubless since parting ways with the Porcupine Warriors at the end of his contract earlier this month.

The Burkina Faso international had been linked with a move to Zambia Super League champions Zesco United earlier this week, but Medeama gave him an offer he could not resist.

Ghanaian portal Sportsnetgh.com reported on Thursday that Yacouba has put pen to paper a two-year deal after agreeing to take home GHc5,000.00 every month.

“Medeama SC agreed to an amount of GHc30,000 per year deal with a performance contract of $10,000.00 each year with the Burkinabè attacker,” the portal reports.

Yacouba had before come under several transfer controversies with Asante Kotoko after failing to renew his contract with the club.

He was previously linked with several clubs from other top African leagues including Orlando Pirates, Al Hilal and Nkana FC.

At Kotoko, the 28-year old forward helped the Kumasi based club reach the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in eleven years.

Yacouba joined Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal as a free player after parting ways with Stade Malien.
