Zesco Midfielder Thabani Kamusoko Set To Return From Injury

Zesco United’s Zimbabwe midfielder Thabani Kamusoko says he is almost ready to return to competitive football after a long injury lay-off.

Zesco United’s Zimbabwe midfielder Thabani Kamusoko says he is almost ready to return to competitive football after a long injury lay-off.

The 31-year-old has not played competitively this year after picking an injury while playing in a CAF Champions League tie against five-time African Champions TP Mazembe in December.

He seems to be making good progress and was part of the team that travelled to Mufulira last Sunday, even though he has not been training with the first team.

“I am recovering very well and will be back in the game very soon. The club has given me the best medical support for me to be where I am at the moment. I am with the team in spirit,” Kamusoko said.

Kamusoko joined Zesco in the last summer’s transfer window from Tanzanian giants Yanga and has thus far scored three goals in the FAZ/MTN Super League.

“It has been a difficult and disappointing experience for me. I got injured at a crucial time when I was just starting to enjoy life at the club. When I signed for this club, I wanted people to see the calibre of a football player I am. I wanted to be a major part of the club’s success in the league and Champions League,” he added.

Zesco are fourth in the standings with 38 points, only three adrift of log leaders Green Eagles and are scheduled to face Power Dynamos on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Arthur Davies Stadium.
