Zambia national team head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic could not suppress his frustrations despite their impressive victory against Tanzania on Tuesday night.

The Chipolopolo kicked off their African Nations Championship finals with a 2-0 victory over Tanzania at Limbe Stadium in Cameroon.

Zambia put out a dominant display and scored second-half goals courtesy of captain Collins Sikombe and Emmanuel Chabula.

Sikombe converted a second-half penalty in the 63rd minute before Chabula sweetly volleyed with nine minutes remaining, however, Micho seems to somewhat frustrated with his charges’ lacking the required killer instinct.

“No player has given his 100 percent. We need to improve a lot because there is no space for relaxation or complacency. The biggest motivation that we are going immediately to prepare for our next game against Guinea,” the Serbian told reporters after the game.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “We have played against a good team that put us under a lot of pressure, especially in the first half. Winning the opening match is a good step, but we are still far from playing our best.”   [/perfectpullquote]

Zambia played three friendly matches against Cameroon, Uganda, Niger and Libya which prepared the Chipolopolo to get in shape for CHAN proper.

Zambia faces Guinea on Saturday in their Group D second match at the same venue while Tanzania will face Namibia in a must-win match for both sides.

Both nations have never met in CHAN competition before and neither would you want to lose the first encounter.
