Zamalek coach Christian Gross is not going anywhere‚ the White Knights’ chairman Mortada Mansour has said.

Zamalek coach Christian Gross is not going anywhere‚ the White Knights’ chairman Mortada Mansour has said.

On Monday, Mansour laughed off speculation that Gross is under pressure in his job‚ and moved to dispel reports and rumors that the Cairo giants have been in talks with other coaches.

He quashed speculations that the former Tottenham Hotspurs, VfB Stuttgart coach Christian Gross will be relieved of his job following a series of poor results.

“I will not appoint a new manager. Christian Gross will remain at the club until the end of his contract,” Mansour told El-Mehwar.

“We learned from the past. We used to change managers for specific reasons.”

“Yes Gross makes a lot of mistakes, but he is trying to fix them. I repeat he will remain at the club until the end of his contract,” he added.

On Sunday, the Whites were held to a one-all draw by Petro de Luanda in their CAF Confederation Cup match, which left them bottom of Group D with two points, four behind leaders Gor Mahia, while NA Hussein Dey and Petro Luanda sit second and third respectively with four points.

Zamalek will travel to face Petro Luanda in Angola in the next round, while Algeria’s NA Hussein Dey will host Gor Mahia.

Domestically, Gross has had a mixed bag of results in recent weeks including last week 2-2 draw with Tala’a El-Gaish.
